Kittens
More kitten pictures
13/05/13 12:37
I've added some more pictures to the current kittens' latest pics album - I wish I had time to do this more, but frankly being in the real world with them is far better than sitting at the computer downloading and uploading pictures and writing about them! They're ready to receive visitors now...
New babies
10/04/13 19:29
Marmite had 7 lovely kittens from Lynda Scott's Brek on Friday 5th April - right on time. They are all doing well. Four girls (blue and brown torties) and three boys (blue and brown). Two days later Natalie Henty's maiden queen Isis also had a large litter of 8 kittens (chocolate and possibly lilac - time will tell), so between us we have 15 kittens! A very exciting weekend.
Marmite
26/02/13 12:03
I hope to goodness this isn't tempting fate, but it looks as if Marmite is pregnant. She is due to have her kittens in the week after Easter. I thought she hadn't taken this time, but she is fattening up, and I think we're lucky! Marmite wasn't due to be pregnant so soon after her last litter, but she got a pyometra so had to be mated quickly if she was going to have kittens again. This will be her last litter.
Marmite’s kittens all gone
13/11/12 09:30
Venus, the last of Marmite’s kittens left home last weekend, going all the way to Dublin. We miss her rather a lot at the moment as she was here longer than the others because of having to have a rabies vaccination before travelling, but she’s settling well in her new home, and we’re getting used to being a bit quieter here!
Kittens still available!
08/10/12 12:09
Two of Marmite’s boys are still available, and will be ready to go next week. The two kittens are both brown, one pointed pattern, and one mink (Tonkinese) pattern. Both extremely affectionate and cuddly!
Apology!
26/09/12 18:49
I'm so sorry not to have published any new pictures, but have been hand-rearing a litter of kittens for another breeder, and have only just come away from 3 weeks without a complete night's sleep. Everything unnecessary had to go in order to look after these little ones, so no updates to the website! All 6 are doing fine, but I'm still feeling pretty wiped out! I hope to upload some new kitten pictures this weekend.
Kittens at 3 and a half weeks
15/08/12 16:08
More pictures uploaded on the Current page under the Kitten heading. They are just wobbling around and have moved to a larger enclosed area of my bedroom so that they can stretch their legs without worrying their mother too much that they will get into trouble.
New kitten pictures at last!
06/08/12 15:05
I have finally done a bit of an update to the website and created a page for Marmite's new kittens. Only a few pictures so far, but they are still fuzzballs! They are growing like weeds and quite a lot bigger than previous litters at this age, which is very good. They are like little fat furry sausages.
New pictures uploaded
16/03/12 18:48
13 New pictures added to the Current Kittens page. Sorry for the delay: we have been in litter training, weaning and moving rooms every two days (usually at 2am) mode!
New videos
24/02/12 16:36
I've added some new videos for days 7-10 (all their eyes are now open) to YouTube, and they can also be seen here in the Videos page for the Current Kittens. They're all doing extremely well, and I've had lots of calls from people who want to have one!
Pictures/videos
16/02/12 22:59
Pictures and videos of the kittens have been uploaded and can be seen on the Current Kittens page and the Videos sub-page.
Tango's kittens
14/02/12 20:40
Tango's first litter of babies has been born: six beautiful large babies, kicking and screaming and raring to go. She did it really easily too, and I'm so proud of her. See their pictures on the Kitten pages (Current Kittens).
Spider has a new home
20/09/11 18:41
Yes, the last of the kittens has gone: Spider went to his new home on Thursday evening, and is already snuggling up with his new Burmese friends. We're all missing him, but the household is settling back to normal - as much as it can with this bunch! The next adventure will be Tango going to stud, which I hope will happen in the next couple of weeks.
Spider (brown) still available
01/09/11 22:22
Spider, the brown mink boy from Marmite's current litter is still available and now ready to go. His brothers have left home, so he needs to move soon before he gets his little paws too firmly under the table here!
More pictures
08/08/11 20:34
I've added a handful of pictures today and will try to add some more this week, but it depends on the sun and on the little monsters posing. Only one is promised so far, so today I did the dreaded job of sorting out some adverts...
New pictures!
20/06/11 20:04
Finally, some new pictures of Marmite's kittens. They're now just over 4 weeks old, and ready for visitors, so if you would like one please get in touch as soon as possible to arrange a time to visit.
Kittens born
24/05/11 12:36
Marmite had three lovely kittens in the early morning on Friday 20 May. I'm still a bit sleep-deprived as all my kittens are born beside my bed, and this lot have impressive lungs on them, screaming about pretty much everything! They are all boys, and seem to be one blue and two pointed (blue or brown - colours will develop in the next few weeks). These kittens may all be spoken for, as I have had rather a lot of enquiries over the last few weeks, but I am also 'advertising' a lovely brown F1 girl for a friend, so please be in touch if you are interested.
Marmite
28/04/11 18:38
Marmite is definitely pregnant now, and kittens are due around 20 May. I do not have a waiting list, but I do keep a note of people who have contacted me wanting kittens and will contact you when I have more news (I will also update the newsfeed when I have a moment).
Kitten news
22/03/11 22:48
Marmite has just come back from stud in Cambridgeshire (with Chinktonks Nocturne, a Blue). If she is pregnant she will have kittens aroun 21 May, who will be ready to go about 20 August. It's too early to tell whether she is pregnant - another 18 days I should think before I get any hints, but I can start making tentative plans!
All gone - again!
29/11/10 18:15
As fast as they arrived, the little Siamese guys have found homes. Though they are still here, they are now all spoken for. I can't believe the demand for Old-style Siamese - makes me wonder if I should start breeding them again!
Siamese Babies here!
15/11/10 21:28
Yes, there are six gorgeous Siamese kittens here: they purr like tractor engines, and can't get enough of cuddling: when I go in to their room they swarm over me and all they want is to be held and cuddled. They are darlings, and have wonderful soft coats with a gentle and loving temperament to match. Four of them are available to special homes. See Kittens/Currently available for some pictures and more details.
SIAMESE kittens!
09/11/10 19:50
It has been many years since I advertised Siamese kittens available, but I spoke this evening to Henry Tinney in Somerset, who bred both my Siamese girls when I was breeding Siamese, and he has two litters of kittens available, both ready to go: 5 seal point boys, 1 lilac boy and 1 seal-point girl. His telephone number is 01458 831827 (no e-mail). Please give him a call!
KITTENS!
03/11/10 20:50
Yes, there are more kittens available! Diane Short in Newcastle has two gorgeous litters of kittens ready to go right now, but no buyers in her part of the world. I have agreed to bring them to Oxford if necessary as there are a lot more cat lovers in this part of the world, so if you are interested but Newcastle is too far, then you could meet them here. Their father is a son of Chaos, who went to live with Diane last year. Please contact me or Diane right away if you are interested.
All gone!
08/10/10 00:32
The last of the kittens has gone to her new home: Arabesque (called ‘Scooby’ because of her huge paws!) has gone to live in Shrewsbury with a lovely rescue snow marbled Bengal, who is very gentle and I hope will be a great friend. Scooby will love her markings, as they are so similar to her mother’s
New pictures
03/08/10 16:46
I’ve put up new (very recent) pictures of the kittens, and made a page for each of the three remaining who are not yet spoken-for: Geronimo, Patience and Arabesque. Go to the end of the slide-show to find their new pictures, and see their individual pages under ‘Currently available’.
More kitten news
28/06/10 19:01
At last I have put up some new pictures and news of kittens available: I have three kittens available to new homes, two girls and a boy. Their pictures are on the ‘Kittens’ and ‘Currently available’ pages.
Kitten news
10/06/10 21:55
Apologies for the long silence - things have been very busy here! I have put up a few new pictures of the kittens, and news at last of the litters and their availability on the ‘Kittens’ and ‘Currently available’ pages.
Kitten news
10/05/10 22:11
I have put up news of the kittens and pictures on the ‘Currently Available’ page. It looks as if Baby R has three girls and a boy. Marmite had three boys and a girl, but we lost one of the boys last week to a heart defect. The others are strong and very well, and gaining weight fast. None of Marmite’s kittens will be available for breeding. I’m not sure yet of colours: Marmite seems to have a blue tabby boy and brown tabby girl, and a white boy who will be a pointed something - blue probably - but I don’t know whether he will be tabby or not. Baby R’s litter are all very white: two lilacs and two chocolates. The boy is a solid pattern chocolate tabby, and already very stripy. The others ... time will tell! One of the girls is a pointed chocolate, and may turn out to have stripes, and the lilacs may also be striped but it’s too early to tell yet.
More Kittens: Marmite very happy
03/05/10 11:23
Marmite safely delivered four lovely kittens yesterday afternoon (Sunday 2nd May). It looks like three boys and a girl. Three of the kittens are tabbies; two definitely blue and the third blue at the moment, but might be a brown when she darkens up. The fourth kitten is just like his father: gangly, leggy and feisty. He’s pure white so is going to be a pointed pattern, probably a blue as he’s very white. It looks as if Baby Reckless has three girls and a boy.
Baby Reckless's kittens born
26/04/10 21:40
Baby Reckless had her first litter of kittens in the small hours of Saturday 24 April. The first was born at about half past midnight, with three more following at intervals of about half an hour. They are all healthy and active and have extremely loud voices! I don’t know the sexes yet, nor the colours for sure, but they will be chocolates and possibly lilacs. I hope for tabbies too, but time will tell. With the pale colours it’s very hard to know what they are for a few weeks.
Kittens due
25/03/10 13:29
Both Marmite and Baby Reckless are showing signs of being pregnant, and in fact are swelling noticeably, which is pretty good going given that they’re not that far on in their pregnancies! The kittens are due at the end of April and beginning of May, so watch this space for news.
News of kittens
19/02/10 19:12
Baby Reckless has finally called, and gone to stud in Swindon. I am hoping that Marmite will also call very soon so that they can have their babies together. There are Chaos babies available in a couple of weeks, with Penny Reeve in Wiltshire - please see the kitten page for details.
All gone!
02/12/09 16:08
Well, Helena’s kittens had left me within 24 hours of arriving. Their fleeting visit was fun, but most of all enabled three lovely homes from the wrong side of the country for Helena to have a kitten (or two) from Helena. They are all happily in their new home and seem none the worse for their brief stay at Casa Rameses. It has got me all broody though: I have plans to mate both Baby Reckless and Marmite in January, which will mean (assuming they oblige and all goes well) that we will have kittens ready some time in June.
New kittens available
18/11/09 23:32
I am very happy to be able to announce that four lovely Chinktonks kittens will be coming to Oxford around 23 November 2009, so that I can help to find homes for them on behalf of their owner, Helena Barrow of Chinktonks. Helena lives in Devon, and many people don’t feel they can travel that far to visit her. The kittens will be ready to go to new homes when they come to me, so please contact me directly, or Helena, if you would be interested in giving a home to one (or more) of these lovely kittens. Go to my Kitten pages or Helena’s website for more details.
TygerTyger news
03/10/09 16:50
Sorry, TygerTyger is going to the home we had originally planned for him after all. We were hoping for an ideal tabby boy in the litter recently born to Jacleah Siamese and Tonkinese, but the little tabby boy in that litter is not going to be suitable, so we have gone back to plan A! Many apologies to those of you who were hoping to give him a home, but remember, there are other lovely kittens out there:

More Kittens!
02/10/09 21:30
Yes, more Tonkinese kittens! But this time not mine: these have been born to Marmite’s sister, and the father is the same boy as for my litter, Rameses Chaos. They were born on 26 September, and can be seen at Jacleah Old-style Siamese and Tonkinese. I should know within a couple of days whether my own TygerTyger is available again... watch this space!
Kittens for sale again?
23/09/09 18:55
TygerTyger may still be available: we are waiting to hear whether another litter has any stripey boys before we know whether he is going to be available, so watch this space!
More video
14/09/09 16:05
Just a couple of films: one of everyone relaxing in the sunshine (it just makes me want to curl up with them) and another with four of the boys playing with a new toy that arrived this morning: TygerTyger, Perks, Augustine and John the Divine.
All chosen
12/09/09 14:54
The kittens have all been chosen. It has happened quite fast in the end: visitors yesterday and today, both satisfying me that they would provide lovely homes, and both having a pair, so now all six kittens have homes to go to. It’s a relief, as finding the right homes is hard, and often worrying, so now that is done all I have to do is watch and enjoy them for the last few weeks, and then they are off to terrorize someone else!
Goodies...
11/09/09 22:51
Many thanks to Holly at Pinky PawZ online pet supplies, who has given me a terrific discount on all sorts of toys to go with the kittens to their new home. I get very anxious about homing the kittens, and it helps ME to feel that I’m sending them with everything they could possibly need. I don’t feel such a heel for sending them away from their mummy that way.
More homes
11/09/09 22:47
Two more of the kittens have now found homes, Perks and John-the-Divine. They will go together, and the nicest thing is that they will be very close to home: only about 10 mins down the road, so I will be able to see them grow and develop. Lovely!
New photos and videos uploaded
08/09/09 23:09
I have put several new videos up on YouTube (which can also be seen via the link on my web page) and some new still pictures of the kittens. I’m not taking many pictures this year: they are darlings, and I can’t bear to get the camera between me and them!
They are getting lots of visitors, so lots of socialisation, but we haven’t yet fixed on homes for all of them.

Homes for babies
08/09/09 20:47
We now have firm homes for TygerTyger and Augustine the Hippo, though Augustine is going to have to be given a more dignified name! There has been enormous interest in Beluga, the little blue girl, but so far we haven’t found the perfect home for her. I’m not hurrying, as I could happily keep her myself!
New babies
08/09/09 20:42
Marmite has had a lovely litter of 6 babies: 5 tabby boys (blue and brown) and one darling blue pointed girl. They are all doing well, and pictures and videos will go up on the website as they grow.
