The sixth:
If you have visited this website before you may wonder where the page for Gares Rameses Rebel (27c) my darling lilac Burmese, bred for me by Carla Pilkington (Gares Burmese) has gone. I had to rehome her as she started becoming very dominant and picking fights with all the other cats. This was very sad for me, as I loved (and still love) her very much. She came to me in the wake of the death of my beloved Teddy, and gave me the uncomplicated, intelligent love that I needed so much then. She was born only two days after Teddy died, and had so much of his personality and intelligence (she came from his mother's line).

However the household was being torn apart, and I had to deal with the stress and fear that her behaviour was causing. It is not unusual for Burmese to become very jealous of other cats, particularly when they are very close to their owner, so it's not really surprising that this happened. Fortunately she went to Jane Carlton-Smith only a few streets away, who was the person who gave me my first Burmese in 1990. It seemed so right that Jane lost her Burmese just at the time when I was coming to the conclusion that I would have to rehome Rebel. It made the decision much easier, and somehow it seemed that fate had taken a hand, and that this move was the right one. Rebel is very happy there being the centre of attention and wrapping everyone around her little paw, and it's really nice that Jane's original gift of a kitten to me has come full circle with my giving Rebel to her.
