Reckless is my senior girl, since the death of her mother in September 2006. Pumpkin was my foundation Tonkinese, the daughter of my first ever Burmese (Truffle) and from her first litter. I was captivated with the Tonkinese, and loved the tabby markings which came from the first stud I used, Dunchattan Justus (32).

Reckless was the image of her mother, and came from Pumpkin's last litter of 8 kittens. Pumpkin was a fantastic mother, adoring her babies, and Reckless is just the same, though she extends her adoration to everyone else's kittens too!

Pumpkin started her show career aged 8 with a Best in Show and red card day. I had only brought her out 'for fun', but after that couldn't resist a bit more showing, so she ended up being a Grand Premier.

Reckless is not so keen on the show bench - some days she loved it, others she hid under her blanket so she retired gracefully.

Reckless was diagnosed with mammary cancer in December 2008. The vet gave her not much more than 3 months to live. Reckless has other ideas: thanks to a stock of a now-discontinued drug (Orandrone), Reckless has continued to live a full, happy and pain-free life. We are in the last stages of her illness now, but she doesn't know that, and continues to enjoy her life to the full.
